Couch Combat was my first major game development project! I developed it in the Unity Game Engine using C# to program. Couch Combat is a Splitscreen FPS game supporting up to 4 player local multiplayer. The game consists of short, frantic rounds where you spawn on 1 of over 30 stages and race to grab a gun and fight to be the last player standing! In between rounds, players vote on a modifier that will apply to future rounds, these modifiers can be anything from dual wielding to low gravity, and as they stack, the game becomes more and more chaotic. Then, every 10 rounds, a final, "Ridiculous Round" takes place with a unique, bigger modifier. After this, all modifiers reset and the cycle begins again.
Over the 2 year long development of the game, I learned the Unity game engine practically from scratch, and also learned 3D modeling and animation as well, using the program Blender to make the models in the game. I made sound effects by combining sounds from multiple sound packs I purchased together. I commissioned the music producer Daniel Dobbs to create the music and also commissioned an artist (who requested to remain anonymous) to create the cover art.
Steam Page Devlog PlaylistThis is a fantastic game that encourages fun with friends. The moments you create with this game are memorable and full of laughter. I had an absolute blast playing this game.
